Hi all!

I'm now a proud owner of the above. I upgraded from a 21 foot walkaround; it was a bit small for the Chesapeake Bay, and my Dad and I got knocked around a little too much during the rougher days.

I needed something tough and solid, and all roads led me here.

It has two 5.7 gas engines.

I am looking forward to Rockfish season!

There are some electrical issues with the balancing tach, so I will research the site here to see if I can find a solution.

I've uploaded some pics for y'all to enjoy!

Hi!

Good question.

They are rebuild Jaspers, installed in 2001.

I had a compression check done, and the marine surveyer was pleasantly surprised that the results were so good. This is the first boat I've had with inboards, but I have owned cars with V8s (including an old Mustang with a 289), and these sound beautiful.

There are about 500 hours on the Jaspers.

During the sea trial, it rather easily went up to about 30 knots, but of course I won't be driving it that hard. At 3200 rpms, it comfortably ran about 21 knots. I was told that 3200 is a non-destructive operating speed.

I really have no idea what the gph is though.

If you have any insight, I'd appreciate it!

Congratulations on the new ride! I also have a 1987 Express 275 with straight inboards. I purchased it last year and restored it. If you have any questions, I may be able to help. My personal e-mail address is jbuzaiii@aol.com. Good luck. It's a great boat. Very Happy

Joe

You don't know how much I appreciate your offer!

I hope you don't mind, but I'll take you up on it. I am in that phase where everything is new to me, and it can be overwhelming.

I'll email you directly. I'm willing to put $$$ in the boat for sure, but don't even know where to start. I'd love to hear how you approached it.

My 27 has straight drives.

I admit it's been a dramatic difference piloting from my 21' with an outdrive. I've made some people at the marina laugh though Wink

I am getting better.

One note for anyone out there using this boat for rockfish (stripers)...frankly my Dad and I are amazed how perfect it is at trolling slowly. On the calmer days, we just troll with 1 engine and it rolls perfectly at 2 to 2.5 knots. On a day with 2 to 3 footers and strong wind, we had to use both engines for all angles but following seas, where we could go back to 1.

I'm getting schooled by Joe on the boat, which is awesome! A public "thank you" Joe!

I've attached a picture of my boat with my name and port on it....it feels like my own now Wink

I'll send a beer to anyone who knows what it means and what language it is!

Thanks for the public thank you but not necessary. I have received so much help from this site, the least I can do is pass on things that I have experience in. The 2 people that gave me unsurpassed help are John(EAGLEOCJN) and Mark of DAMBOTE. Mark just recently coached me with upgrading my bonding system and adding extra battery power. He has a lot of knowledge. Nevertheless Chris, good luck with the boat. Very Happy

Hey Chris, sorry I didn't pop by over the weekend, but the move was all encompassing. I literaly didn't sit down or eat until 10 pm on Saturday. I don't recommend moving, it's a big pain!

Capt. Dan, sorry I missed you! Call me if you get a chance. If you can get away from the move a bit, maybe you can go out for a day on the Chesapeake. Only a hour from here.

Grout, ok, dead on man!!! How do you know? Kalba lietuviskai?

What kind of beer do you like, and to what address should I send it?
