|
|
| I have a 93 27 ft Albemarle with a intermitent starting problem. The port engine will start when the engine is cold but sometimes not start after the boat has been run for an hour or so. The engines are 5.7 multiport engines that were replced in 03. I have replaced the starter and the key switch. I thought the problem was solved. The problem appears to be heat related. I'd like to know if there is anytype of relay or fuse that may be in the starting circuit that may be the problem. Has anyone every run into this problem and if so what was done to fix the problem. I'd appreciate any feed back. Thanks |

You stated it will not start. Will the engine crank over? Have your gauges (temp. oil)been working properly? The reason I ask is the boat harness plug that attaches to the engine is a lousy connection and may become intermittent. I ended making up a bracket to hold the plug firmly in place. _________________ 95 275 express "REEL TIME" |

I encountered a very strange problem. Same symptoms, and I traced it down to the ignition switch. I replaced it, and it's fine.
Stranger, the batteries charge better now, the radio works, and overall I have more power on the boat. It seems the bad switch was shorting and draining the system. _________________ 1987 27 Express, the "Į Sveikatą" |

I had the same problem. It was a cracked fuse box that sits on top of the engines. I replaced it with a new one that has a better mounting system. No more starting issues or engine alarms at high rpms _________________ "Adventurer II"
