New to forum. Presently own 23' Steiger Chesapeake and looking at upsize to a 28' that will run offshore out of O/C Maryland. Have got the choice narrowed down to two boats, either a GW 282 Sailfish or the 285 Albemarle w/diesels. Looking at the 285 over the 280 for trailering. Need some input from actual owners of the Albe's on how bad the actual roll is at drift anchored and trolling, will also do some bottom fishing with the boat. Looking at the early 2000 boats.

I have a 24cc. Depending on how old you are, where you fish and sea conditions.
I am a few months from 70. The ride of the boat in a head sea (which we get quite a bit of) is unbeatable. You will not compress vertebrae or lose fillings. Yes they do roll a bit when anchored but not enough to out weigh the ride. There are after market chines that can be installed, Also Davis Marine Rock Stoppers are another good option. Best thing I could tell you is ride in one and see for yourself. I am in Wilmington, NC if you get down this way get in touch with me I can take you out.
