This page has boat air conditioning installation information.
Special thanks go out to Chris and Nancy for the description and
pictures of this project.
The
boat for this project was a 1998 265 Albemarle. A Marine Air 5000 BTU
cooling unit was installed in front of the V-birth, including a custom
enclosure to house the unit.
The 4 inch duct runs into the starboard
compartment under the hanging locker and a teak 6X4 supply grill was
mount over the opening there. The condenser water was tapped off of the
saltwater wash down intake.
A new washdown intake scoop was installed and a March LC2 raw water was
added. The pump is mounted by the Jack shaft and runs along the port
side into the galley, through the refrigerator hole, through the small
cabinet next to the refrigerator and into the port V-berth compartment.
The discharge for the condenser water is piped next to the galley sink
drain which required cutting through the side to install a Chromed brass
fitting.
Chris mentioned "The installation was simple, just a lot of knuckle
busting in tight spots."
